Every piece of writing, may it be an essay, micro fiction, serialized novel or short story is created with my brain, my words, my creativity. However, I use AI throughout the writing process, and for full transparency, I would like to outline when and how it is used.
AI Assistance in Writing
I use AI—specifically Google Gemini—to help with outlining and brainstorming, for writing prompts and title creation. This doesn’t mean that I will use ideas generated from AI all the time. If I’m being honest, I throw out more ideas than I use. But it is used in this capacity.
AI and Visual Assets
Due to my disability—blindness—I cannot create visual assets like logos, thumbnails, cover art, etc. For any high-level artwork, I hire a human designer to create those assets. Human-Created Assets: My logo was created by a human. So are all of my book covers. * AI-Generated Assets: Smaller scale graphics like thumbnails and section cards are AI generated as a derivative from the Branding Guidelines of my Logo.
I wanted to write this disclosure to be fully transparent, due to how some people view the use of AI. I view it as a tool, nothing more, nothing less. As I stated earlier, it is a tool I use to supplement the visual aspects of content creation that I would not, and have not been able to create in the past. AI assistance has opened up the possibility to be more independent with creating graphical assets, and given me the ability to do many visual things I have struggled with in the past.
